Its been a while since we have had a blog and i’ve missed sharing all the amazing work our team do and all the achievements of our young people, so lets start them again!
This blog is dedicated to the recent event that Pushforward took part in, all to raise money for this young man Sonny-Beau:

Who is Sonny-Beau and why is Pushforward involved?
At Pushforward, we have the pleasure of working with an amazing young man Sonny-Beau and his family.
Sonny has not had the easiest start in life, having had a number of operations, including symes amputations of both legs, at times not knowing whether Sonny would make it through or not it has been a tough journey for him and his family, mum dad and younger sister.
Despite all this Sonny has the most fantastic sense of humour, he is bright, bubbly, mischievous with a kind and caring soul.
With a diagnosis of Spina-Bifida, dislocated hips and hydrocephalus resulting in the fitting of a shunt, Sonny-Beau’s life continues to be more challenging than most.
Sonny relies heavily on a wheelchair to get about, especially when he is outside of the home. His current chair is great for flat even surfaces and inside, however it is impossible for him to self propel over any ground which is even slightly bumpy or uneven and difficult for parents to push. It is impossible to go over sand, very bumpy and uneven ground, stones/pebbles, woodland etc. This makes trips out as a family extremely difficult and restricting.
As a team at Pushforward we would love to be able to raise enough money to provide Sonny-Beau with a brand new all terrain wheelchair that would go over all surfaces, not only would this mean as a family they could access so many days out that they have had to avoid over the years. But also, Sonny could gain some more independence, that will be so important as he continues to grow.
The Pushforward team will be taking part in several different fundraising activities including a fun day on the 29th June and an ultimate survival night in the garden at our primary site, where we will have to build our own shelters, find our food and cook it over the fire!
We know that this chair will be life-changing for Sonny and his family and appreciate any donation that you are able to make.
Now you can see what we need to do to help Sonny and his family – lets take a look at our first challenge….Netball.
